Whoosh! Should have gotten around to writing this sooner!
MTAC was oodles of fun! I didn't need my built-in getting lost time, and so arrived at 7:30 in the morning. Found a bathroom (a large soda at the start of a three hour drive means full bladder upon arrival!), and then spent the time until registration opened chatting with the cool staff security guy.
After super-cool badge of badgely goodness was obtained, went back to the bathroom to change into costume. Harley from Pokemon - very comfy and very green! Got some Harley love, some Harley hate, and lots of "Are you a Cacturne?" But it was all in good fun!
As usual, I mostly spent the day wandering. The line for the Dealer's Room was scary! I missed the ParaPara panel because I was standing in it. But after much waiting, I finally made it in and obtained a couple boxes of pocky and a couple volumes of Negima. I'd hoped to find some doujinshi, but didn't see any. Oh well.
Once out of the Dealer's Room and through the "Mine is the dark green backpack! No, no! Dark green!" process involved in getting my bag back, I eventually wound up wandering into the Anime Win, Lose, or Draw session.
Now that was fun! I didn't get up to draw - mostly because on too many of the categories I'd have been going, "Huh?" Face it. I know squat about Inu Yasha, DB, DBZ, and Yu Yu Hakusho. But I do know my old school Ninja Turtles and Mario Bros.! I didn't call out Bebop or Technodrome with enough volume to be heard, but when Pirhanna Plant came up I was loud and proud, baby!
After that there was more wandering. I wander a lot! This time I wandered my way outside to get pictures at the Kingdom Hearts photoshoot. It was an Org. Orgy! I got a good laugh over hearing someone ask why one of the many Demyxes had a thong on his head, followed up by someone answering with, "It's a freaking fruity pirate hat!" Xemnas Report rocks socks!
Wander, wander, and then back outside for GEEK. It was my first time watching GEEK, and it was fun to watch, though very very messy for the participants - as evidenced by the wading pool filled with toilet paper and water and the soaped down slip-n-slide covered with oatmeal and soggy cereal!
Not long after that, I decided it was time to head on home. I'd probably have stayed longer, but I didn't like the thought of trying to find my way through an unfamiliar area in both the rain and the dark. Though I would have loved to have stayed for the late night Host Club. Ah well. Maybe next year.
Now to start working on a plan for AWA. If I can get it done in time, I'm totally going as a Dancer Nobody! If I can't, I'll be whipping out Harley again!
